FC&HS: CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS

Interested in local history? Curious about our community’s past? High Street Histories is a new project researching the history of Forres High Street, its buildings and the stories of the people who have lived and worked there.
We are looking for volunteers to help us. You’ll have a chance to learn new skills, meet others and contribute to building a picture of our town’s unique past. There will be opportunities to explore collections and archives, historical walks to map the landscape and the chance to help us create a dynamic online exhibition, all supported by training and guidance from the project team. You can join us in a weekly meet up at the Tolbooth in Forres or volunteer online if you prefer.
The project is part of the Forres Conservation & Heritage Scheme led by Moray Council, a major initiative which aims to revitalise Forres town centre through preserving historic buildings, enhancing public spaces and leading community heritage activities.
This is a great opportunity if you are interested in developing research skills or even simply if you love local history! Register your interest at forres.heritage@gmail.com
